All programming is through a touch screen display and the vacuum suction head makes easy work of different configurations of carton layers on the pallet. The gripper head has a slip sheet application fitted with distance finder sensor. The MOTOMAN robot is able to achieve up to 15 moves per minute if required.

6 axis robot with new adjustable gripper for sand and gravel sacks

PACE Mechanical Handling recently replaced old ABB M94 robots for a new Motoman ES165D-100 6 axis robot with new adjustable gripper for palletizing sacks of sand and gravel.

More pack sizes, easier control

The company’s MD commented “Replacing the old robot was the best thing we could do, as the number of different size packs have increased over the years and the old robot could not keep up with the amount of bags we now pack. The larger touch screen gives us easy program changes and makes the new MOTOMAN a more user friendly robot system”.

Quick installation

“We are delighted as Pace Mechanical Handling Ltd installed and programmed the new robot within a week of delivery”.

A successful show for PACE & Yaskawa at PPMA

A display of some of the latest handling robots brought many visitors to the joint exhibition stand of PACE Mechanical Handling and Yaskawa UK Ltd at the recently held PPMA show in Birmingham.

PACE, headed by Nick Cesare, is dedicated to designing and installing customised robotic handling systems for its customers using only new Yaskawa, Motoman range of robots.

PACE delighted with MOTOMAN range of robots

Nick comments, “We’ve had many enquiries during the show and the collaboration between Yaskawa and ourselves has been very important for us by enabling our customers to see that PACE is endorsed by a company that supplies robots for numerous prestigious industries including automotive and aerospace. The reliability of the robot is paramount and we are delighted with both the technological advancements and support that MOTOMAN range of robots provide for us. They are helping our business thrive in a competitive marketplace.”

Yaskawa value and support spirited companies such as PACE

Colin Jakes, Regional Sales Manager at Yaskawa UK, remarked that PACE is an active, dynamic company and as robots handling systems is its core business activity Yaskawa are more than happy to offer support in many different ways.

Colin added “As a design and manufacturing company Yaskawa has been producing robots since the early 1970’s with a current production capability of 2000+ robots per month from its HQ Japan to the global markets.

We value and support spirited companies such as PACE, and PPMA is an excellent opportunity to spend quality time with our suppliers, and the networking opportunities are immense. We look forward to another successful year working alongside PACE.”

Exciting new products are on show as PACE display the latest 6 axis robot palletising system alongside two of Motoman’s pick and place robots with vision systems. The stand is hosted by Nick Cesare of PACE Mechanical Handling and Colin Jakes of Yaskawa Motoman Robotics, who will be very happy to fully explain the huge benefits of mechanical handling, including both palletising and pick and place systems.

Nick Cesare commented “One of our aims at the show is to impart knowledge about the ease of use and affordability of robotic palletising to companies who have not considered a mechanical handling solution for their particular set-up. I think a lot of visitors will be delighted to see how a robotic solution can speed up productivity and save costs at the same time.”

The PPMA Show runs from 25th until 27th September 2012, NEC, Birmingham.

PACE Mechanical Handling Ltd look forward to meeting new and existing customers on Stand No: D74 at the NEC, Birmingham in September. The PPMA Show is a complete production line event and PACE are exhibiting the very latest of their new range of Motoman robotic palletising systems.

PPMA 2012

The Motoman systems, produced by leading Japanese company Yaskawa, are used for palletising sacks, cartons, crates or any object which requires placement onto a pallet, including chemicals, aggregates, rubber & plastics, food & manufacturing. PACE custom-build a bespoke solution to suit the application and the clients particular requirements regarding space and working schedules.

Articulated arm robot for greater flexibility
Sales Director Nick Cesare adds “These are exciting times for PACE. Right now, improving palletising with a new state-of-the-art articulated arm robot couldn’t be easier. With less moving parts than conventional systems plus the added flexibility when palletising different size objects proves an appealing solution for many clients demands”.

PACE team up with YASKAWA MOTOMAN robots

A visit to Japan to the Robot Expo “IREX” last year. It made sense to sign up with Motoman Robots. With a wide range of models and producing 2000 robots per month we needed a supplier with the understanding of the palletizing market. With the latest software, programing and integration becomes a lot simpler.

PACE team up with Yaskawa Robots

Out with the old in with the new

The used robots with their inability to keep up with today’s hardware/software methods and their lack of reliability, made it a good time for us to move up to the new robot market.

With a new Motoman robot you can eliminate down time increase efficiency and throughput and has the ability with off line maintenance.

PACE now supply brand new Motoman robots
