MOTOMAN MH3F Pick and Place
PACE’s smallest type of their “Material Handling” robots is the new YASKAWA MOTOMAN MH3F, a small but powerful and high speed 6-axis robot with a reach of 532 mm.

It is designed for applications with a payload up to 3 kg and is ideally suited when space is at a premium. Typical applications for this robot are pick and place or packaging. Its high repeatability of +/- 0.02 mm also makes it an excellent robot for assembly tasks.

Collision avoidance function

The base width is only 170 mm, which means that the cell size can be kept to a minimum especially when several robots are working in the same facility. Reliability of all YASKAWA’s robots is very high and this is further enhanced by the cable management system which is routed inside the body of the robot arm. A very useful feature is the collision avoidance function that eliminates the risk of robots colliding with each other due to programming errors.

Compact controller

This robot is controlled from the compact FS100 controller, which only measures 169 x 315 x 50 mm. This is an energy efficient and high performance robot controller with an open architecture that makes it possible for the user to access robot interfaces and motions externally via a PC or PLC. In addition the user can develop their own applications or allow the controller to function as a slave of the higher-level controller in a line. This means that the robot can be programmed in a customary PLC language. The controller also handles real-time processing of sensor signals, reactions to camera information and other high-speed applications.

The New SP MKII Sack Placer/Presenter is suitable for automatically presenting single sacks to a self-adjusting clamp.

Paper or plastic sacks can be positioned onto the sack magazine with a holding capacity of up to 300 sacks. Operation is by picking the rear of the sack then a motorised web peels the sack from the stack enablling clean pick up of the sack. The sack is then presented open mouth first to the stretch arms and is opened by two heavy duty guided cylinders. The stretch arms are motorised with an electric motor so that adjustment can be made with the rotation via the HMI screen.

Total control

Plc and HMI control and inverter drives give the operator total control and ease of adjustment.

The New Pacer MKII, an electronic weigher with a user-friendly display, is capable of weighing from 10kg up to 25kg of root crops at up to 18 tonnes per hour with 25kg size sacks, and can comfortably weigh, bag and stitch up to 100 tonnes a day.

Heavy duty black rubber belts feed produce into two electronic weigh hoppers mounted on three load cells, giving precise weighing to the last object fed into the hopper. The cross conveyor positioned under the hoppers provide an extra weighment to increases throughput. A self adjusting sack clamp offers ease of use when presenting different size sacks. Following an impressively fast and accurate stitch the bag can then be fed onto a pallet and neatly stacked by one of PACE’s mechanical handling robots. Independent belt adjustment and heavy duty framework offers the user durability and reliability.

Noted reliability and improved ease of use

Notable advances on earlier versions of the old style clamping device for bagging now includes 100% stitch fulfilment, along with electronic weighing scales highly tuned for accuracy. The Pacer MK II Twin Tank Hopper Electronic Weigher/Bagger is noted for its reliability and improved ease of use.

MOTOMAN MPK2

The MOTOMAN MPK2 is a five-axis, high-speed robot that is particularly suitable in the following areas: order-picking, high-speed handling, picking-packingpalletizing and many other handling applications.

With its Wash-Down paintwork, the MPK2 has been developed especially for use in the food industry and in environments with strict cleanliness requirements. Thanks to its compact and streamlined design, the robot can operate even in confined workspaces. The hollow-wrist design of the MPK2 allows integrated supply lines for energy, fluids and air – all the way from the robot base to the tool.

This high-speed robot, with a payload of 2 kg, is characterized by its very high velocity and acceleration. With a maximum of 133 cycles/minute, this robot combines performance and reliability in all handling applications.

MOTOMAN MPP3

The MOTOMAN MPP3 4-axis high-speed robot with parallel kinematic system combines the speed of the delta design with a high payload capacity and a large working range. Due to the high torque of the fourth axis, the so-called wrist axis, the MOTOMAN MPP3 moves payloads of up to 3 kg at unprecedented speeds.
The new ‘MPP3’ delta robot for demanding picking tasks rounds out the MOTOMAN product range from Yaskawa. It was developed for the fields of order picking, high-speed picking and other handling applications, and is used primarily in the food and solar industries.

The MH5LS/MH5LF is a compact, high-speed 6-axis robot that offers superior performance in a variety of applications such as packaging, material handling, machine tending and dispensing, where versatility is required.

The MH5LS and MH5LF features an 895 mm reach and offers the widest work envelope in its class. The MH5LS is controlled via the DX100 robot controller, which is capable of controlling up to 8 robots from the same controller , whilst the MH5LF uses the highly compact FS100 controller. MOTOMAN MPL160

The innovative, 4-axis palletizing robot MPL160 with it´s payload of 160 kg is a dynamic masterful mover and stands out due to it´s extremely high acceleration and axis speed values. Another important criterion is the low space requirement.

The supply lines of the MPL models are routed internally (four air lines and 22 electric cables) up to the wrist axis, thus ensuring maximum service life of the hose packages.

Moreover, the MOTOMAN MPL160 has a hollow wrist with a diameter of 50 or 60 mm. Even in the case of longer wrist axis motions there are no disturbing, externally routed supply lines.

Like all new MOTOMAN robot models, the MPL160 series is operated with the high-performance DX100 controller and can thus be equipped with all standard bus systems such as ASI-S. This bus cable can optionally also be routed internally through the robot as far as the wrist axis.

The MPL robots can optionally be delivered complete with a palletizing robot software package, specially tailored to the requirements of the customers. The software can be installed either on a PC or directly on the teach pendant.

The four-axis MPL100 ‘Master Palletizing’ robot has fast axial speeds and acceleration which reduces cycle times and increases production output.

Suitable to present open mouth sacks to a self-adjusting sack clamp can be fitted to most automatic weighing machines incorporating the following features of bottom of bag pickup and chain drive sack feed Venturi operated open sack and electric drive rotation for presentation arms.
